Assessment Accelerator Released for Public Access

June 7, 2021 - Zero Friction released its FISMA Assessment Accelerator to help organizations to rapidly conduct security assessment using NIST 800-53 Rev 4 (Revision 5 is coming soon) and report assessment results without significant manual work. Assessment Accelerator is free macro-enabled Excel VB application that does not require internet to utilize, and is ideal for conducting security assessments away from home sites, allowing data to be exported at a later time into GRC solutions. Your data are your responsibility and remain with your Assessment Accelerator workbook.

Assessment Accelerator allows organizations to customize and manage security assessment plan for information systems supporting both initial authority to operation to annual assessments while allowing for volatile and non-volatile controls to be customized across three-year periods.

The Assessment Accelerator includes risk scoring that can be customized by end-users to support the organization's risk appetite.

The Excel VB application has been successfully utilized by several security assessors across multiple organizations for the past four plus years. The applications can be operated in shared mode for multiple accessors, or in single user mode.

The application tracks and reports on the progress of both control implementation and assessment over time.

The application also automates the reporting of assessment results into simple to understand dashboard elements and cross-walks results into other standards including NIST Cybersecurity Framework and SANS Critical Security Controls.

Where findings are identified, the Assessment Accelerator documents and provides a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) or Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) for incorporating into Security Assessment Report.
