Polygon patched critical vulnerability that would have placed $24B of assets at risk using the silent patch method from Ethereum. However, a hacker was able to exploit the platform before it was able to fully patch for $1.8M in MATIC tokens. Polygon paid the white hat hacker Leon Spacewalker $2.2M in stablecoins for his help identified the vulnerability.
